Low daytime running lamps in Laguna II
Xenon burner wear out by switching often-times repeated. So I add a daytime running light in my car. This daytime running light is provided by the stray lights alone. The advantages are:
- Reduce fuel consumption by turning off side marker lamps and interior lighting. (approximately 50 Watts)
- Extends life-time of xenon burners and side marker lamps
- No forgetting
My wiring is built fast and cheap. You need 3 relays, 2 fuses, a diode (eg. 1N 5405) and some accessories like shrinkage tubes, wire and crimp connectors.
After running the engine, the dynamo provides +12V on relays K2 and it pass through.
When switching the normal light K3 interrupts the daytime running light.
After switching of the engine K1 avoid the jittering of the lamps (exciting by reduce rotary speed of the generator)
Except for the generator charge indicator cable (D+ small cable at the dynamo) one finds all required wires at the plug next to the battery (ignition plus, sidelights and fog lamp).
Note !
The reproduction of this wiring is at one's own risk. I take on no responsibility for the function and consequences!
Please work faithful. A short circuit in the cable of the generator charge indicator leads to the destruction of the dynamo!
