Carmen Melissa - Birth report
The life of Carmen began probably on June 18th, 2003. On July 11th a pregnancy test revealed the happy message to us. Natur did run its course and Carmen got bigger by the minute.
On April 1st 2004 we went to hospital to induce birth because Carmen was already 12 days overdue. After checking the heart signals of Carmen the process of birth was started. Several hours later the contractions started. By now it was about two in the afternoon and we had to go in the maternity room every three hours for monitoring the heart frequences of Carmen.

Here Antje did still spot her cute little baby bump. The hours past by and it was already three o'clock in the morning as the pain of the contractions got to be nearly unbearable. This led to a local anesthesia to be able to cope with the pain. At four in the morning the pain was so light that we bove succeeded to go asleep. We slept until 6 am. The hospital of the "Barmherzigen Brüder" offered separate bedding for the men who wished to support their women who were expected to be giving birth soon.
After heavy bearing down-pains a complication appeared at 8.15 a.m. The heart sound of Carmen declined because of an incidence with the umbilical cord and the doctors supported Antje from the outside with additional pressure. But finally the time for Carmen Melissa was there - at 8.21 a.m. our beautiful baby girl made her first appearance.
Carmen had a birth weigth of 7.562 lbs and was 19.69 inch long.
